Trainers and Consultants

Michael Haycock: BRC Senior Quality Management Consultant and Advisor. Mike has an MBA, is a certified ISO 9001:2008 and 14001 Lead Auditor and has over 20 years experience in quality management, holding senior positions in the private sector as well as for a leading QMS Registrar. He is able to provide a full range of training and consulting services for OHSAS 18001, ISO 13485, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 17025 and Z-299 Quality Systems. He has also successfully assisted several companies to implement quality management systems. Mike pens a majority of the articles for our complimentary Quality Review newsletters and it is his ability to interpret ISO into such an "easy" readable format, that makes the newsletters so popular.

Gary Pennington: Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Specialist. Gary provides training and consulting services in industrial health and safety programs, including the new 18001 standard. He is also qualified to provide training in ISO 9000 and ISO EMS 14001. Gary holds the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, a diploma in Business Administration and is also a Certified Health and Safety Consultant.

Lynn Clyde: Quality Management Consultant. Lynn has 18 years of experience in the field of Total Quality Management. This experience includes ISO 9000, QS 9000, Malcolm Baldrige, Statistical Process Control, Continuous Improvement Tools and Organizational Effectiveness. She has a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, a Master of Education Degree, and is a Professional Engineer. Lynn has also been a Certified Quality Auditor with the National Quality Institute, is a Certified Management Consultant 'Registered ISO 9000 Specialist', and a Plexus ISO 9000 Master Trainer.

Jim Pickard, P.Eng. Quality Management Consultant. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree and has over 19 years experience designing and working with corporate quality management systems. He has been a team member on a number of ISO 9000 QMS developments and was part of the Quality Task Forces that successfully attained ISO 9001 certification. He is a certified ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor and has provided a full range of QMS training and consulting services to a wide range of clients and ISO standards, including the aerospace/defense industry as well as maritime forestry, mining and smelting companies.

John Mahn: Quality Management Consultant. John has a BA in business, is a certified ISO 9001 & ISO TS 16949 Lead Auditor with over 20 years experience in senior management positions with large international corporations. His extensive international experience in business contributes strongly to his global understanding of the importance of Quality. He has been providing a full range of training, consulting & implementing services for over 14 years in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO TS 16949, ISO 17025 and AS 9100. He works with NATO bases and aerospace corporations, implementing ISO 9001:2000 / AS 9100 systems. John is international in scope, working with corporations across Canada, in the USA, Mexico & Europe.

Ken McCuaig, P. Eng. As a professional engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Royal Military College, Ken brings years of extensive training experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques. Working for a number of registrars, he has conducted audits and training for ISO 9001, TS16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS. His background in the oilfield manufacturing sector proves invaluable experience as an consultant and trainer for The Business Resource Centre.

Bob Z. Blazewicz Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Specialist. Bob has been conducting courses and consulting in GD&T for over 16 years across Canada, USA and Mexico. He also teaches GD&T and Advanced GD&T courses at the college level . Bob’s education in Mechanical Engineering Technology along with 15 years of work experience as a designer, manager and project engineer in the aerospace communication industry has provided him with the knowledge and practical tools to make GD&T easily understood. The BRC is pleased to have worked with Bob for the last seven years.

Martin Poirier is an ISO 9001 certified Lead Auditor and fluent in both spoken and written French and English. His education in Mechanical Marine Engineering along with over 20 years experience in business, contributes to his global understanding of the importance of management systems. He has trained, audited, coached and implemented the ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and AS9100 standards for over 11 years as well as performed audits for a major registrar. Comfortable in dealing with organizations large and small, The BRC is delighted to have Martin deliver a number of our training courses in French.

Ernie Payette, BSc., M.Ed. Ernie holds a Bachelor of Science degree and has his Masters of Education. With 30 years in the education field as a high school principal and assistant education superintendent, Ernie acquired valuable experience developing new course curriculum. His assignments included providing management training for administrators, organizing and supervising new teacher in-service modules, and writing courses for adult learners. He was responsible for the authoring and implementation of new policies and programs for the Bermuda Ministry of Education.

Larry Chisholm: Quality Management Consultant. Larry's experience in quality systems management and manufacturing systems in the commercial, shipbuilding, offshore oil and gas, petrochemical and refining, nuclear, space, communications, and aerospace industry over the last 25 years provides him with a wealth of background knowledge to impart. He has managed numerous quality organizations for delivery of equipment and services in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes, AQAP 1, CSA-Z-299, ISO 9001, API Q1, and MIL-Q-9858A. Larry is, as all of our consultants must be, an ISO 9000 Lead Auditor.

Michael Hennessy: has implemented and audited numerous ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems over the past 20 years in the energy, oil and gas industries: he is a former instructor of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology where he designed and taught their ISO courses. He is a Certified ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor from RAB and is qualified to deliver RAB approved Lead Auditor training/courses for CSA. Michael has been a member of the Board of Directors and past president of the Canadian Gas Processors Suppliers Association.

Ken Sadler: Ken brings years of auditing and training experience as a Lead Auditor in both the ISO 9001 and EMS 14001 fields. He is well known by quality professionals from all over the East Coast. Ken has audited numerous large companies working with one of North America's largest Registrar and has assisted The BRC with his expertise for implementations and public training courses throughout the Atlantic region.

Michael Brodsky, DIP. BACT, M.Sc. Michael has a Diploma in Bacteriology, a Masters Degree in Microbiology and is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Lead Auditor. Michael has more than 25 years of experience doing laboratory auditing. He provides consultation in microbiological food and water safety and laboratory accreditation. He is a Lead Auditor and Technical Assessor in water microbiology for CAEAL and a technical assessor in food microbiology for the Standards Council of Canada (PALCAN).

R.L. (Rocky) Lodwick has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and service industries and is well versed in numerous standards, particularly ISO 17025 and Aerospace with emphasis on the health, safety and environmental aspects of firms. His experience in the Canadian Armed Forces has provided him with a strong background of organizational and leadership skills. The BRC is very pleased to add Rocky, as another very skilled and dynamic instructor and auditor to our consultant base.

Ted Uffen is a Mechanical Engineering Technologist, a certified ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 & ISO TS 16949 Lead Auditor with over 20 years experience in senior management positions. As a Continuing Education instructor at Fanshawe College for many years, Ted has both developed and presented ISO and auditing courses as well as web based training sessions. His background with the Department of National Defence broadens the scope of his experience with Quality systems. He has been providing a full range of training, consulting & implementing services for Food Safety, HACCP, 13485 Medical Devices, and Core Tools, as well as the above mentioned standards.
