Core Tools Training
Automotive manufacturers operate in a competitive industry in which they are challenged with meeting or exceeding customer expectations and producing a sustainable volume of product on time. The Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and PPAP) are quality tools and techniques that are used through a product’s life cycle to help organizations achieve this goal.
The BRC offers a variety of Core Tools training courses that can be customized to meet the unique needs of each organization, often delivered in conjunction with hands-on workshops to give employees practical experience.
Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC & PPAP)
Knowledge and effective use of the AIAG automotive core tools is one of the most important mechanisms for an organization who wants to develop a robust quality management system, and consistently manage its key processes.
This course provides attendees with an overview of, and introductory instruction in, all 5 of the Automotive Core Tools – APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC & PPAP.
FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
An analytical methodology to help ensure that potential problems have been considered and addressed during product and process development.
The BRC offers training courses covering both AIAG 4th Edition FMEA and AIAG & VDA 1st Edition FMEA (2019).
APQP & PPAP
APQP introduces a five-stage product quality planning process supported by the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” cycle.
Learn the skills required to implement the APQP process, develop control plans, and complete the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) efficiently and effectively within your organization.
MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
In-depth study of MSA, an approach used to evaluate the test method, measuring instruments, and the process of obtaining measurements to ensure the integrity of data used for analysis and to understand the implications of measurement error for decisions made about a product or process.
The nature of measurement systems, and the fundamental analysis used to examine them, will be explored.
This course covers the requirements of AIAG MSA 4th Edition.
SPC (Statistical Process Control)
This course provides a detailed introduction to Statistical Process Control, a method of quality control used to monitor and control processes with the goal of maximizing production and minimizing waste.
The role of statistical techniques (statistical process control, process capability analysis, etc.) as a foundation for continual improvement is explored.
This course covers the requirements of AIAG SPC 2nd Edition.
APQP, FMEA, Control Plan & Mistake Proofing
This course addresses APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) with a focus on preventive measures that can be used to ensure product integrity.
The major elements covered include APQP, FMEA, Control Plan Methodology as a structured approach for the implementation of value-added control methods, and Mistake Proofing as a tool for stopping mistakes before they occur.
